We understand that most great adventures happen in areas without cell phone service. BaseMap has you covered. Create an offline map of any area you want to visit before you head out of service. To cache a map, tap the plus sign at the bottom right of the app, then tap “Offline Maps”. Tap “New”, choose which resolution you would like to cache, then navigate to the area you would like to access later. Cache up to three basemap options at the same time (satellite imagery, world topography and USGS topography). You can also cache layers to use offline, just make sure they are selected before you start to cache. Tap the “Cache” button and allow enough time for the device to save the information. Caching time varies based on your service quality, resolution, size of the area and how many layers you selected. To access your offline map, tap the plus sign at the bottom right of the app, then tap “Offline Maps”. Select the map you want to view and tap “go offline”.
